The second part of the Netflix original series┬ĀMoney Heist: Korea ŌĆō Joint Economic Area┬Āflopped once again. Even with its best effort to attract viewers with a new character, the series failed epically. Set in a unified Korean Peninsula,┬ĀMoney Heist: Korea ŌĆō Joint Economic Area Part 2 is about a group of thieves trying to pull off the biggest heist in history. Part 1 follows the group of robbers overtaking the mint, and the South and North teams confronting each other as they try to resolve the hostage situation. Part 2 features a new character named Seoul (played by Lim Ji Yeon) who appears right before the grand escape.┬Ā According to Netflix, Part 2 of the series recorded 12.8 million hours during the opening week (9th to 11th), which is less than half of the cumulative watch hours (33.74 million) gained by its first part during its opening week. Viewers are also a lot less enthusiastic about the series. Some say they love the romance between Seoul and Berlin (Park Hae Soo) and the unique action scenes that resemble FPS games. In general, the second part of the series is getting better reviews, but it needs more than just positive reviews to rebound in the platform. The show scored 5.3 stars on IMDb, the lowest rating among the nine original Korean series released this year. Some point out that having the series divided into two parts led to its failure.
